Ethical, theological, and historical reflections on performance and success in sports, church and society] »Efficiency lead to success and prosperity lead to achievement« - seeing that promise as covenant of civil society? This acceptance is assertation in contest. In fact the principle of efficiency is one of the main principles of postmodern society to win acceptance and enhance the status. But the critique of the principle is re-emerging once in a while. Notably the churches are highly engaged in the critique of the principle of efficiency. They obivously feel called to admonish the civil society not to refuse such people attention and respect which are not have immediate success, efficieny and achievement. The aim of this volume is to participate in the different ethical, theological and historical discourses about efficiency, success and achievement in sporty, society and churches.
