Die »Nachfolge Christi« (De imitatione Christi) ist eines der wirkungsmächtigsten Werke der christlichen Frömmigkeits- und Erbauungsliteratur. Sie bietet eine mystisch grundierte Anleitung zu einem persönlichen geistlichen Leben frommer Innerlichkeit. Im frühen 15. Jahrhundert von dem Kanoniker Thomas von Kempen (1389/90–1471) in lateinischer Sprache verfasst, fand die »Nachfolge Christi« über die Jahrhunderte hinweg bis in die Gegenwart konfessionsübergreifend zahlreiche Liebhaber von Ignatius von Loyola bis Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
