Theologie in europäischen Räumen

Die Studie erkundet Europa als emergenten theologischen Raum, in dem Theologie durch Alteritätserfahrung und Begegnungen angeregt und herausgefordert wird. Ausgangspunkt bildet ein mehrdimensionales Theologieverständnis, das die individuell verantwortete Reflexion von Deutungen religiöser Erfahrungen einbezieht und Europa als Raum der Theologieproduktivität betrachtet. Durch eine Kombination von systematisch-theologischer Begriffsarbeit und empirischer Forschung an drei Fallbeispielen ergeben sich verschiedene Strukturmerkmale theologieproduktiver europäischer Räume und unterschiedliche Formen theologischen Nachdenkens in Europa. Damit bietet die Studie einen systematisch-theologischen Beitrag zur Erforschung des Christentums in Europa sowie Perspektiven für und Anknüpfungen an praktisch theologische Fragestellungen.

[Theology in European Spaces. A Study on the Understanding of Theology, Forms of Theological Reflection, and Theologically Motivated Engagement]
The study explores Europe as an emerging theological space in which theology is stimulated and challenged by experiences of alterity and encounters with the European other. It starts from a multidimensional understanding of theology that incorporates and regards Europe as a space of theological productivity. A combination of systematic theological conceptual work and empirical research on three case studies yields various structural characteristics of theologically productive European spaces and different forms of theological reflection in Europe. The study thus provides a systematic theological contribution to the exploration of Christianity in Europe, as well as perspectives for and connections to practical theological questions.
